Farm Program Provides Second Chance for Our Animals.

Updated: Aug 9, 2021

Our very precious animals are raised by our Bundoora Secondary College Farm Program & VCAL students. All our animals are very much loved and our standards of care are outstanding. Our students are so proud to be providing these kids with a second chance after a very difficult start to life.

The Farm Program is designed to provide Bundoora Secondary College students with opportunities to learn agricultural science, environmental science, technology, engineering and mathematics through experience with and exposure to agricultural practices, with a focus on sustainability.

The vision for the program is to extend it beyond the classroom to include animal therapy, sustainability education and fostering positive relationships between students and the animals.

The agricultural industry in Victoria is the largest in Australia and has experienced significant growth in the last decade.

Our farm community continues to grow, recently introducing Tully and Babe (shetland ponies) that have previously been used for equine therapy. The students were super-excited to meet our newest members and will be well cared for in their new home.
